Winter testing this year in Barcelona and Bahrain

Published on 26 January 2022 by Mike Motilall

The official dates for Winter testing were confirmed today by Formula 1. From Wednesday 23rd through Friday 25th of February the drivers will get the chance to get their hands on their new rides for the first time. The tests on Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya will however be held behind closed doors, which means that no fans are allowed. There will also be no live broadcasting nor timing. At the end of every day, Formula 1 will announce the best lap times and publish related content.

From Thursday 10th through Saturday 12th of March, the teams will set up shop in Bahrain, before the Formula 1-season officially gets underway the week after. As oppose to the Barcelona-test, fans will be allowed for the testing in Bahrain this time round and all the action will also be aired.

By now only five teams have announced the launch dates for their new cars. Red Bull Racing will soon announce a date on which the RB18 will be unveiled.
