Team Redline rebrands as Verstappen Sim Racing

Published on 23 March 2026 by Niels Hendrix

Verstappen Racing announces that Team Redline, its sim racing division, will rebrand as Verstappen Sim Racing. The change brings the team’s identity fully in line with Verstappen Racing’s ambition to build a unified racing ecosystem that spans all forms of motorsport, from GT3 racing to the virtual world.

Founded in 2000 by Dom Duhan, Team Redline has established itself as the most successful sim racing team in the world, winning championships across the sport’s most competitive platforms, including back-to-back Esports World Cup titles in 2024 and 2025, PESC champions in 2022, 2024, and 2025, and the 2025 IMSA Esports Global Championship GTP title with BMW.

Under the Verstappen Sim Racing name, the team will continue its full competitive programme. Alongside competing at the top of sim racing, Verstappen Sim Racing will serve as a key part of Verstappen Racing’s driver development activities, providing a pathway for virtual talent to progress through the racing ladder.

The link between sim racing and real-world motorsport is already proven within the Verstappen Racing ecosystem. Chris Lulham joined Team Redline in 2021, and in 2025, after multiple successes in sim racing competitions, Lulham was handpicked by Max Verstappen to make the step from sim racing to real-world GT3 competition. In 2025, racing under the Verstappen Racing programme in the GT World Challenge Europe, Lulham won the 24 Hours of Spa in class and claimed Gold Cup titles in both the Endurance and Sprint championships alongside Thierry Vermeulen. Lulham’s progression from Team Redline to GT3 is the clearest example yet of what Verstappen Racing is building.

Max Verstappen said: “Sim Racing is a big passion of mine outside Formula 1, and Team Redline has been a big part of that. It is where I spend a lot of my time off track, and part of what I am building with Verstappen Racing. This step to Verstappen Sim Racing feels very natural. We’re taking everything we’ve achieved and bringing it closer in line with the wider Verstappen Racing platform. I’ve always believed that sim racing can develop real talent, and we’re already seeing that with Chris Lulham. I’m really excited to keep building on the success of the team and see what the future holds.”

Atze Kerkhof, CEO of Verstappen Sim Racing, added: “Building on the legacy of Team Redline, Verstappen Sim Racing represents the next step in an era where sim racing is a true breeding ground for real world talent. I’m excited about the future and look forward to continuing to grow and push this team forward.”

Dom Duhan, founder of Team Redline, said: “I’m proud to see everything Team Redline has built continue under Verstappen Sim Racing. After years of developing and guiding the team, this transition feels like a natural evolution, one that will continue to inspire and cultivate the next generation of racing talent.”
