Jos at the start of the Monteberg Rally

Published on 01 May 2023 by Heidi De Love

After some postponement, Jos Verstappen will drive his first rally of 2023 next weekend, as he will be at the start of the Monteberg Rally on Sunday, May 7th. On that day, together with his co-pilot Renaud Jamoul, Jos will complete the eleven special stages in western Belgium in his Skoda Fabia RS Rally2 car.

Sudden health issues threw a spanner in the works two and a half months ago. After the necessary examinations, a minor medical procedure proved necessary to permanently remedy the cause. That, as well as the subsequent recovery, has been successful and by now Jos says he feels better than he has in years. The 51-year-old Verstappen is super fit again and is looking forward to getting behind the wheel again.

The next rallies after the coming weekend are also already planned, namely three from the Belgian Rally Championship: the Sezoens Rally on May 20th, the Rally of Bertrix on June 10th & 11th and the Ypres Rally on June 23rd & 24th.
