Mekies after qualifying Melbourne: 'Looked very brutal and unusual'

Laurent Mekies, CEO and team principal of Oracle Red Bull Racing, said after qualifying in Melbourne: ”What happened to Max is obviously very unfortunate and the most important thing is that he is okay. At the moment we are still trying to fully understand what happened. The loss of grip he had to deal with looked very brutal and unusual. We will need to take a deeper dive into the data and analyse everything carefully. We know tomorrow will be another steep learning day, and we are all focused on taking on those learnings as quickly as we can as a team.”
