Smoking....

British American Racing will be allowed to run it's dual livery car at the Australian Grand Prix this weekend. The Australian government has made no objections. Australia has very strict legislation on tobacco advertising during sporting events. Formula 1 is exempted from this legislation for the time being. Spokeswoman for the Australian health minister, Dr Michael Wooldridge, said: "We are not in a position to have an objection to that. Under the exemption we gave F1 for the cars, cigarette advertising of any kind is permissible."

Although the Australian government has no objections to BAR's two-tone car, the FIA has. Next week BAR will have to appear before the World Council to challenge the rule that has stopped the team from running a cars in different liveries.
