BMW starts testing.

BMW who will make his Formula 1 entrance next year has announced that they will start test their engine on the circuit. The new v10 engine will be mounted on a '98 version of the Williams, the team which they will make their debut. The testdriver will be Jorg Muller. In order to protect the project from press and public, the tests will take place on their own circuit in Miramas. According to Paul Roche, who is responsible for the development, the tests does not yet have to measure itself against current Formula 1 engines.
