Minardi announced that Stéphane Sarrazin will be the replacement of Luca Badoer for the Grand Prix of Brazil. Minardi was looking for replacement for Luca Badoer after his crash in which he injured his hand. Also Minardi approached Jos Verstappen but his test work for Honda made it impossible to take the offer. The 24-year-old Stéphane Sarrazin is the current testdriver for the Prost team and he is contester in the F3000 world championship.
