April fool

German TV station RTL Television was almost tricked by an April fool, set up by the Italian magazine Rombo. The magazine had published a story in which a system would be exposed on the Mclaren's that would provide the drivers with information about the best angle of steering in a corner. Besides that the system would also be able to change the set-up of the car while driving. According to the magazine McLaren would have to show the system to the FIA technical commission on April 1. Unfortunately RTL was warned in time because of a letter by the magazine to McLaren explaining the fact that it was an April fool.
The English 'The Daily Express' magazine had a good story about a special kind of wax, used by Benetton, that knocked off a second per lap. The English magazine 'Autosport' also had a good story about an 'exclusive' scoop of a Ferrari two-seater.
