Mika Hakkinen proved fastest this aftertoon, he established a time which initially was 1 second faster than Michael Schumacher's of this morning. While the sun was shining bright and the temperature rose to 24 degrees Centrigrade Michael was able to improve his time and got stuck on 0.4 seconds behind Mika Hakkinen. Third of the day was Ralf Schumacher and behind him Barrichello, Trulli and Coulthard. Jordan copied Arrows and put a wing on Jarno Trulli's car in their effort to find more downforce. It resembled a sun energy collector but he actually established faster times than his team mate, who was driving without this aerodynamic aid.
As usual some drivers went into the barriers, the Williams mechanics will be working late tonight.
Jos improved his time and finished 15th. We will try to speak to him later today and post his comments on this page.
