Troublesome day for Jos

Despite the absolute marvelous weather in Magny Cours, blue sky and 35º Celsius, dark clouds were seen in the Arrows pitbox.
Due to an engine problem the team had to exchange a complete engine during lunch and in the afternoon the power steering of the Arrows A22 gave some problems. Besides that the team had some problems with the cooling system. The very high temperature made the tarmac reach 50º Celsius.
Although the team experienced various problems a couple of important tests were performed. Jos focused on testing the tyre construction. This is not the standard compound test as Enrique was doing today. They tested hard and soft side constructions of the tyre. Jos also tested the software for traction control and the differential. Jos drove a grand total of 61 laps and Enrique made 63 laps.
What was suspected at the beginning of the season was confirmed today: Michelin have go tyres for hot weather. Ralf Schumacher was fastest today.
Nine of the 11 teams were present at Magny Cours, only Minardi and Sauber were not to be seen.
