Hakkinen fastest, Jos 16th

Hakkinen was the only one with a time in the 1.17s and came first at the end of the second free practice. Second was David Coulthard and third, again a good result from the Irishman Eddie Irvine. Jos lapped a 16th time and was 0.7 seconds faster than his teammate Enrique Bernoldi.
Not a very good practice for Jos, he drove a total of 24 laps and this was very little compared with the rest. Only Minardi and BAR had less laps. Tarso Marques was only able to drive 6 laps due to a problem and Jacques Villeneuve did not drive many laps at all but this was due to a crash in the first free practice.

Remarkable was that Michael Schumacher got stuck on an 11th place; full fuel tank?
