Problems for Jos in first practice session

Published on 27 July 2001 by John ter Meer

With Ricardo Zonta replacing Heinz-Harald Frentzen and an engine from Jos’ car not working properly, the first free practice session of the Hockenheim Grand Prix started this morning. After 10 minutes Jos’ session is allready over, he is forced to park his car because of a problem with the fuel pressure. It happens in the third chicane (Senna Curve) but he can’t manage to drive the car to the pitlane anymore. Let’s hope for a better session later on.

Rubens Barrichello is the quickest, 1:41.953. Both Jaguars end up in the top ten, Pedro de la Rosa is even second! Giancarlo Fisichella puts his Benetton in ninth place; 1:43.98. Enrique Bernoldi takes seventeenth for the Arrows team.
