Dark clouds forced most of the drivers to go out of the pit lane during the start of the qualifying session. However it remained dry during the first part. Same names could be found in the top as were seen during the complete weekend: Berger, Hill, Villeneuve. After half an hour, Villeneuve took the pole position from Hill in 1:50.574. Not much later the rain started to fall down, which made it impossible to improve the times. During his first session Jos did a good job and kept the 13th position for some time. However, since other drivers improved their time, he dropped back to the 16th position where he will start his race tomorrow. See Belgium Grand Prix results for the complete results.
