Lots of dutch Formula 1 fans traveled to Spa in Belgium to look at their idol Jos Verstappen which could be noted by the huge amount of banners near the track:

The first free practice at SPA Belgium was dry. However, Schumacher made a spin during the first session which resulted in a heavy crash against a wall of tires. The back of his car was strongly damaged which made it impossible for him to start in the second free practice. Schumacher himself was unhurt. During both morning and afternoon sessions, Gerhard Berger was fastest. Jos was seventeenth on the first session but improved his time with more the 2. seconds in the second session where he finally ended at a 15th position of the day. The Arrows team did a good job, since besides Jos only Villeneuve and Barrichello managed to improve their time with more then 2.5 seconds. See Belgium Grand Prix results for the complete results.
