Successfull demo/test day at Zandvoort

Published on 09 September 2001 by Huub Rothengatter

It all started very early on Sunday morngin. Jos arrived at Zandvoort at about 7.45hrs. He had quite a busy schedule ahead of him, the whole day was fully booked and it all went according to plan.

In the morning there were several runs with the Arrows three seater. In one of the runs Jos and Enrique were passengers in the AX3 driven by Steven Watson. "It is a very strange experience to be in a Formula 1 car as a passenger." according to Jos.

After this session Jos did some demo laps with the A22 and gave some interviews. Unfortunately it was very rainy. This was not good for the spectator numbers and particularly not good for Jos's attempt to break the lap record. Jos was short by 0.5 seconds of Luca Badoer's record.

From approximately three o'clock the test at the renovated Zandvoort circuit started. Jos drove 33 laps where the main focus was on the differential and the front wing.
Despite the bad weather it was a very impressive and successfull day for Jos and he is looking forward to the next time.
