Sneak preview of the A23

What is happening with the development on the A23? The A22 is at its end and no improvements can be expected, all the focus is to next season. Arrows have a lot of new people with lots of experience, a new engine and a wind tunnel of their own. What will the end result be?
"One thing is sure we will have a complete new front on our car" according to Jos. "Next year's engine has more horsepower than this years', which results in major changes in the design. The complete front of the car has to be redesigned. That is what caused this year's problems, a major change has been planned. The new wind tunnel is a great advantage. The wind tunnel showed us the faults of the A22 and that is what we try to solve with the new car." What are you going to change on the front of the car? "You will have to wait a while before we can reveal more".
Something that was remarkable in the USGP warmup was that Jos's fast time compared to the qualifying time, although the warmup was in the T-car. "You're right, we were as surprised as you. I was light and the circumstances were better and faster but the T-car reacted better on the steering than my race car. Looking in hindsight we should have done the qualification in the T-car, Enrique had to do that and he said that the car was very good. Before the race we decided to start the GP with the race car because that one felt better on a heavy fuel load and when we had driven a few laps with it."
What can we expect in Japan? "Unfortunately no new parts on the car but I will do my utmost to get the best out of the car."
