Alesi fast in his last Grand Prix weekend

In a warm Suzuka the first free practices of this seasons' last Grand Prix have just finished. Remarkable was the departing Jean Alesi topping the charts, followed by Juan Pablo Montoya and Pedro de la Rosa. Both Arrows finished in the second half of the field; Jos on 19th, Enrique 20th. Nick Heidfeld went off track at high speed, which caused a red flag situation during 10 minutes but was unhurt.

Jos told us right after the second free practice: "We have driven with quite a lot of fuel on board. Suzuka is a nice circuit, fast with daring corners. We did what we planned to do: choosing the right tyres and working on the setup. We are doing our utmost and that is all we can do."
