Jos: 'two useful days'
Published on 29 January 2003 by Huub Rothengatter
We just had a call from Jos. Today he was at the circuit from noon onwards and watched his team mate Justin Wilson. "I haven't done much today, walked around and watched. No, I have not spoken any of the other drivers. They were all busy doing their work. When Justin was done they started working on the car to make all the changes needed for me tomorrow, like the pedals and the seat."
The lap times of today are not representative of the ability of the Minardi team. "We are able to drive, but the lap times don't mean that much. Would not be possible; the Avon tyres are not designed for Formula 1 and we are driving in a two year old chassis."
Nevertheless Jos is happy to get in that car at 9am tomorrow. "It is mainly meant to get that Formula 1 car feeling back. It was a very useful day for Justin, we used our time on the circuit quite well."
The test tomorrow is from 9am - noon and from 2pm - 5pm. To be continued...
