Jos surprises friend and foe

The morning session has just finished and it is already a success. Jos clocked a time of 1:15.1, which is faster than any Minardi ever has gone on the Valencia circuit. This time has been set this morning in an old Minardi PS01 with the 2001 Cosworth engine, using Avon F3000 tyres. Jos was not the fastest on the track, which was expected but nobody thought Jos would break the old lap record.
Jos feels at home at Minardi
Jos started the morning with two short stints. After some adjustments to the brakepedal, Jos was ready for it and drove all he could and broke the Minardi record. 1:15.1, which is approximately 2 seconds faster than Justin Wilson's time.
What kind of influence the tyres have incomparison to last years' Michelins is very difficult to tell but Justin Wilson already said that the Avon tyres need a longer braking distance. Nevertheless Jos did well and the team appreciates this. Greg Wheeler's smile speaks for itself and Jos feels at home with the Italian based Minardi team.
This afternoon the test will be continued and we will post an extensive report later today including Jos's comments.
