Jos careful after first test

Published on 26 February 2003 by Huub Rothengatter

Jos Verstappen drove 19 laps on the Imola circuit this morning. As expected this first test was far from perfect. "A first test can't be perfect with a brand new car. It will always suffer from first day problems, especially the electronics." according to Jos who indicated that the technicians have some work to do before the first Grand Prix next week in Melbourne.

Jos's fastest lap was 1.26.2, this afternoon it was Justin's turn. "The track conditions were not ideal and we are driving without power steering which is very heavy. The grip of the new Bridgestone is good and the engine power pleases me. All in all it was a very useful test, although I have to add that the first Grand Prix will be a difficult one for us. We still have to do a lot of work. We are doing our best, that is all we can do. End of this week we are flying to Melbourne and I am ready for it!" according to Jos.
