Jos happy with bringing the car home

Published on 23 March 2003 by Huub Rothengatter

We just spoke with Jos, who was not all dissappointed about the Malaysian Grand Prix: "I am happy we finished, this race was veryt ough." The race started good. "I was able to overtake six cars, but after the second corner this effort all went to waste. Something got airborne after the crash of Pizzonia and Montoya and that piece hit my rear wing. That is why I returned to the pits." Afterwards it all went pretty well; "the first stint went well, I am quite happy about that. The tyres were good but after replacing the rear wing there was not a lot I could do. I was way behind and it was impossible to make that up. The last set of tyres were not that good, at the end of the race the car was slipping and sliding."

Jos is reasonably satisfied about finishing the race: "Looking forward to Brazil, bringing the car home was very important. That race will also be very tough for us, but this was a good preparation." Tomorrow Jos will arrive back home and start preparing himself for the next race. "I have to do a lot of excercising, especially my neck - Brazil is very hard on the neck muscles." Jos and Raymond will leave for South America in the evening hours of 31 March.
