Schumachers on first row

Published on 19 April 2003 by Huub Rothengatter

Michael Schumacher put things right by postioning himself on pole in tomorrow's Grand Prix of San Marino. Next to him he will find his own brother Ralf. Before qualification started people thought the Schumachers' would not set good times because their mother is in a coma in hospital. Both brothers showed that they are real drivers and recorded the fastest lap times. Ralf Schumacher did this in his T-car, he wrecked his own car in this mornings' shunt.

Schumacher positions himself for his first victory of the season

On second row we find Rubens Barrichello in the second Ferrari. He finds the BMW Williams of Montoya next to him. All in all no surprises at the front.
Someone who deserves to be mentioned is Mark Webber, who positioned himself on a magnificent 5 place on the grid.
Although you could not see who has which race strategy, some drivers did not show what could be expected from them. Coulthard has a tough time and has to start from 12th. Trulli had a rough time and had to settle for 16th.
After being somewhat too enthusiastic Jos Verstappen spun off track on the same spot where Ralf Schumacher had his shunt this morning. We will be phoning Jos later.
