Jos: "Bad luck today"

Published on 17 May 2003 by Huub Rothengatter

We have just spoken with a disappointed Jos who commented on today's happenings.

"Just today when we thought we could narrow the gap to our competitors this happens. This morning I had to stop due to an electronic problem and then in qualifying I had to stop after on a couple of seconds into my flying lap due to the fact that I lost my fifth gear !"
A lot of drivers made little errors and a reasonable qualifying position would have been within reach.

Jos returned to the pitbox within minutes

"We have filed a request with the FIA to allow us to repair the car. This is really necessary because Justin has the T-car. If the car can be repaired it means I will start from the grid. A start from the pit is not very easy here in Austria."

"We are aiming for a two stop strategy and we carried a fair amount of fuel. The Bridgestone tyres are doing a very good job here. Let's hope we have more luck tomorrow!"
