Rain spoils everything

The prequalification session was made interesting due to rain. This would be the ideal setup for Jos for the Saturday qualifying, but for this particular session it wasn't all that good for the slower cars.

Kimi Raikkonen set the fastest lap during the dry part of the session, instantly improving Michael Schumacher's time. No one else could pip Kimi off this spot.

Both BMW Williams drivers improved their times compared to this morning.

From the moment that Mark Webber was doing his flying lap it started to rain. The times of the last 10 drivers are not comparable with the others, they were driving in different conditions. Da Matta and Villeneuve didn't manage to keep their car on the track and therefore they will have to be the first to set the mark in tomorrow's qualification.

Jos's flying lap was on a very wet circuit, but kept his car on the tarmac. He finished in front of Panis and Pizzonia but had to see how Justin Wilson beat him in the rain.
