Jos: "Back to reality"

Published on 05 July 2003 by Huub Rothengatter

We just spoke with Jos, who was a bit unused to today's happenings. "I had to adjust, waiting until everyone had done their lap before it was my turn. What can I say? Back to reality, under normal circumstances this is what we are capable of. I had a very good lap, especially in comparison to Justin Wilson. That was to be expected; he had the T-car, which was setup for me. His gearbox broke during warmup." Jos' Minardi had its problems: "My engine stopped, luckily that happened between two practice session. We didn't lose too much time."

Jos is hoping for changing weather conditions for tomorrow, very unlikely for that to happen though. "Probably it will stay dry, which won't be easy for us. Starting from the last row is not easy. We are closer to the Jordans than before, which might be due to the circuit. Maybe it is that they are not having a good time on this circuit. We will see during the race what will happen. We are not as fast as the rest of the field, so it will be tough. If we manage to have a competitive race and finish in one piece, that will do for me."
