Montoya was faster that his team mate R. Schumacher by 0.018 seconds and put himself on pole position. Barrichello was third, best Bridgestone driver and his team mate M. Schumacher was only 6th. The rest of the top ten were all Michelin drivers, whereby both Jaguars were outside the top 10. Wilson's lap was far worse than yesterday's but Webber could have been further to the front of the grid if he had not made two little errors in the last sector.
Jos got stuck on 19th, just in fron tof his team mate Kiesa. The Dane had chosen for the softer tyre while Jos had the harder compound. Although the softer tyre should be 0.5 seconds faster in theory, Kiesa did not manage to position himself in fron of Jos.
