Schumacher pole; Jos 17th

Ferrari did good business in todays qualifying session: Schumacher on pole and Barrichello on third. Montoya who went out last seemd to have the edge over Schumacher in the first 2 sectors but in the end he ended up on second place. This meant that Ferrari did not get their dream scenario: a one-two at Monza with Barrichello creating a buffer between Schumacher and the rest of the teams.

Michael Schumacher on pole again

The question here is if Montoya's second place is all that bad for Ferrari. The BMW-Williams driver is on the 'dirty' side of the track but Barrichello is on the clean side. It might be possible that both Ferraris reach the first chicane before anyone else.

Jos Verstappen was second one out today. Gene had a virtual pole for a long time but came 5th in the end. Jos's lap was excellent (considering the possiblities) and managed to keep Kiesa and Baumgartner behind him. Normally that would be enough for 18th, but Alonso had a spin in the first chicane which ruined his lap. Alonso ended up being last and Jos moved up a place to 17th. Alsonso will start tomorrow, he has been driving very well this weekend. For Nicolas Kiesa it is doubtful if he is allowed to start, he ended outside the 107%.
