Jos: 'I will be on the grid in 2004'

We asked Jos Verstappen if he had some comments on today's news. He said: "We heard it yesterday evening, well before the official press release. It is disappointing that we were not able to conclude a deal. Not just for me but also for my sponsors who have done everything possible to get me that Jaguar seat. I would like to thank my sponsors Wilux, Halfords and especially Trusts Michel Perridon amd Har Muermans of Muermans Realty for all their efforts. We can't compete with companies like Red Bull"

Everyone around Jos is positive about his chances to get a seat for next year. We asked Jos how it feels after such a disappointment: "It is the same with me. Michel Perridon and I have spoken about things and we are very confident that I will be on the grid in 2004. I don't have to convince anyone of my talent. Unfortunatlye decisions are not taken just on talent, we've seen it again today. With my service record and support of my sponsors I am sure we can do it. I have known Michel Perricon and Har Muermans long enough to be certain about it. If you would only know how much they have done to let me join Jaguar. I am sure we will succeed in getting a seat for next season."
