Trust breaks with Verstappen's management

Published on 17 February 2004 by Huub Rothengatter

Trust has issued a press statement stating that they don't have any faith in Jos Verstappen's management. The high demands set by Jos' management for his contract have led to the break down in the negotiations with Jordan Grand Prix, this is what Trust believes and that is why all ties with Jos Verstappen's management team have been broken.

Trust confirmed last week that they will support Jos. "This is still a fact, but not with his current managers. If any possibilities to get a drive should arise Trust wants to utilise it to its fullest potential and don't miss the boat again by the high contractual demands of Jos Verstappen's management." According to Michel Perridon, Trust's CEO.

The press statement appeared shortly after Jordan F1 gave their opinion about failing to sign Jos Verstappen on their website. Coincidence? They put the blame on Jos' management as well, particularly Huub Rothengatter.

We asked Huub Rothengatter for a reaction: "I am absolutely gobsmacked by what I have read on Trust's statement and Jordan's website. I don't want to give any comments at this point."

At Trust's Headquarters no one was available for comments.
