A1GP: Nightrace in Malaysia - CANCELLED
Published on 14 October 2005 by Thorsten Hendriks
Unfortunately the A1GP organisation thought it would be to early (it is only the 5th race) to have a race in the dark. They are looking into the possibility of having a nightrace elsewhere.
From 18-20 November the A1 Grand Prix pays a visit to the circuit of Sepang in Malaysia.
For this race they have come up with something unique: it will be a nightrace. Broadcast in Europe will be 1pm in Great Britain and 2pm for Western Europe, when it is evening in Sepang. Something very special!
A spokeperson of A1GP told that they are working hard to make some technical improvements on the cars. They are focusing on the batteries and wheel nuts; they are hoping these improvement have been implemented before the next race.
The broadcasting will show some improvement. High on the priority list is: better text information. This means that the viewers at home are able to see which drivers is at what position and if they have pitted yet.
It is good to see that A1 Grand Prix recognises her weak points and takes effort to put these right quickly.
