It's going to be busy in Durban, South Africa

The race this weekend in Durban will be seen by many specators. There are 45,000 tickets available and over 33,000 have already been sold. The 'bronze' tickers (cheapest at 25 Euros) are completely sold out.
If you want to fly from Johannesburg to Durban you will have to pay: only first class is availabe on inconvenient times.
According to A1GP's general manager Stephen Watson 25,000 tickets were sold a week ago. "We are selling about 1,000 tickets a day, but nearer to the race this numbers increase." commented Watson. "We should not be too optimistic but we are expecting a completely sold out race!"
It is not easy to organise a street race. Everything is planned but only Thursday evening the roads are being closed off for all other traffic. A lot of things still need to be done afer that, but it can only be done when the circuit is sealed off.
The low tickets prices contribute to the huge number of people wanting to see the race. The most expensive ticket (Platinum Seat) is only 78 Euros.
This street race has a domino effect on the entire city. Stand are build, new tarmac on the roads and multiple contruction project have been ongoing for quite some time.
The organisation also told us that they are not building this circuit only to be used once. A1GP wants to give the people of South Africa an excellent weekend that will be remembered and hopefully repeated year after year which hopefully will attract the racefans.
