Limited enthusiasm for Durban circuit
Published on 27 January 2006 by Thorsten Hendriks
We have spoken with Jos, just before the first free practice starts on the street circuit in Durban as part of the South African A1GP weekend. There is 2 hours later in South Africa, as seen from UK. We have to keep the phonecall short because Jos is in a bus with the rest of the drivers doing a lap to get acquainted with the circuit.
"It is a very different circuit" Jos tells us with limited enthusaism. "A couple of the kerbs are wrong, as far as I'm concerned. Accorcing to the organisers it has to do with safety but I see that different. Some parts are very narrow and if we have to squeeze through there....." At the moment is it raining in Durban and the track is soaking wet. How that will affect the results of this afternoon's free practice, we will have to see.
