Jos and Jan on first practice

Published on 13 March 2006 by Thorsten Hendriks

Last night it snowed and was followed by heavy rain, this caused mayhem and the organisation had to make some changes in the schedule. Only 1 free practice on Friday and 2 on Saturday as well as the qualification.

"It is a good start for this weekend. We were able to drive some laps, after some delays. This circuit is beautiful, only a pity that there were so many wet spots on the track. There was also still a lot of sand on the track. The car felt good and the only thing I had to do is learn the layout of the circuit. We are doing well, we will have to see what happens tomorrow of course, and the big question is if it will be staying dry. I like this circuit and it should be a good race." according to Jos Verstappen.

No water, but sand

Jan Lammers: "Some parts of the track were still very slippery and this is a circuit where it is easy to make a mistake. Jos has been wise and obtained the maximum from this session. Jos was fastest of the drivers who haven't been here before. I am happy, now we have the task to keep this momentum and hopfully improve."

The weather is unpredictable but Jos hopes it will stay dry, although the forecast is more rain.
