Jos on the qualifying session in Shanghai

Published on 01 April 2006 by Thorsten Hendriks

We were able to speak with Jos Verstappen after the qualification session and it seems he is happy with seventh position on the grid: "I didn't think we would be able to qualify in the top ten as we weren't able to find the right balance in the car. However after we changed something on the downforce and suspension it all went a lot better during the third run. Small changes can make or break here. It is a difficult circuit with those slow corners combined with the fast ones, this asks a lot from the rear tyres. It is just difficult to find the right balance. I am very happy with seventh, I couldn't have done more."

When we asked him how he is planning the race, Jos commented: "It looks like it is going to stay dry which is positive. Anything can happen but the most important thing is to score points. I don't think that we can keep Great Britain from third place but we should be able to get fourth and I will do my best to get that."

No full sell out in Shanghai, it will be on 1 October 2006 in Zandvoort!

Jos Verstappen is enthusiastic about the A1GP race in Zandvoort. "It is fantastic for the Dutch fans, having a race in their own country! I don't know if I will be driving though, Jan Lammers and I will have to engage into talks about that. I would love to drive there and I have every intention to continue in A1GP."
