Lately there has been quite a bit of negative publicity in Dutch press on Jos, his driving abilities and his manager. Whether this criticism is right or not we can not tell at this stage. Now that the '96 racing season is over we establish the fact that Jos has been the only driver who has outqualified his teammate in every Grand Prix. We can also establish the fact that nine times Jos hasn't been able to finish a race due to a mechanical failure. The following table gives a summary of Jos' results in all 1996 Grand Prix.

Several teams have shown a serious interest in Jos. After the race in Japan Jos went to Europe straightaway to negotiate with several teams and his sponsors. To Jos' regret he had to cancel his planned Bridgestone tyre tests on tuesday and wednesday but for this moment he has to let his future prevail.
