Jos very pleased with FDA car swap for Max

After the first free practice session during the first Florida Winter Series round at Sebring, Max Verstappen switched to another Formula Abarth car. "Max already complained on Wednesday during the collective test at the Homestead Speedway, so he correctly felt something was wrong with car", said father and mentor Jos.
During that collective test, Max set a seventh fastest time in both the morning and afternoon session. However, for unknown reasons, the young Dutchman lost several tenths of a second in the last sector, which mainly consists of a long straight. However, at Sebring it became apparent, that something was undoubtedly wrong with Max' original car.

Jos explains: "There seemed to be an electronic issue with the engine. To prevent Max losing loads of track time due to extensive repairs, the organisation gave Max a new car. That is a very professional approach."
In a technically advanced sport like motorsport, it is not uncommon for technical issues to arise, as it is the nature of the sport. However, it is very important how these issues are dealt with. Jos: "Twice the mechanics tried to fix the problems, but unfortunately the issues did not disappear. Luca Baldisserri, the head of Ferrari Driver Academy, stepped in and decided Max should get a different car so he could get out on track as soon as possible. I have to say I am very pleased with how the Ferrari Driver Academy dealt with this."

With a new car at his disposal, Max once again showcased his talent and potential. In the remaining three 60 minute practice sessions, Max topped the time table in one session and finished the other two in second place. Considering Max is a motorsport rookie and the fierce competition provided by the Florida Winter Series, it is another excellent performance by Verstappen junior.
