Max absolves FWS fitness and simulator workshops

Published on 01 February 2014 by Stefan Meens

Max Verstappen had a busy week as the organisers of the Florida Winter Series decided to squeeze a four day workshop in between two race weekends. It is aimed at providing the youngsters with something more than just a racing preparation, as it covers the mechanical, engineering and athletic side.

On Friday, Max participated in the athletic workshop and was given a chance to drive the Ferrari Driver Academy simulator again. "The fitness training was pretty tough with plenty of ball exercises. We also received some info and advice on nutrition", explains Max. "After that, I got a shot at the simulator. I was given only a dozen laps but it was an opportunity to learn the Palm Beach track. The simulator is different to a real racing car as you don't feel the g-forces and you only have the sound and steering wheel to go by".

On Monday, the second round of the Florida Winter Series will get under way at the Palm Beach International Raceway. The first day will see the drivers go out for three free practice sessions. Tuesday features two qualifying sessions and race 1. On the third and last day, Wednesday, the drivers will conclude the event with race 2 and 3.
