Yesterday Jos Verstappen and Ricardo Rosset have tested the new Arrows on the circuit of Silverstone. After the shake-down test of about six laps Jos was very enthousiastic about the new car. The car has a new suspension-system and a different transmission. Of course the new car complies to the '96 FIA rules. Jos stated that the car has better grip and that the gear-box is faster. The Arrows didn't yet have sponsor-logo's on it, a sign that Arrows is still negotiating with some of them. Jos showed up with a cap with the logo of a new personal sponsor 'Exact', a dutch software-firm, stating that he would most certainly be driving the Arrows in the first races of the next season, and most propably in all of them. The team is now on its way to Estoril where they will be testing the new Arrows furthermore in the planned test at Estoril starting on Saturday, the 17th (see our article of february, 12th, for details). The official team-presentation will propably be held at the end of next week in London after the test-sessions at Estoril (Portugal).

Alan Jenkins, chief-designer at Arrows, will leave the team to join a new team that will present itself in the 1997 season. This team is founded by former Formula 1 champion Jackie Stewart (something for Jos in 1997?). The team will drive with a Ford-engine.
