The deal between Sauber and Ferrari seems to go through according to plan. Sauber buys 40 Ferrari engines, fixed in Japan '96 specification, and will rebuild these engines to Petronas V10's at a factory separate from Ferrari. Besides that Sauber is busy setting up its own engine factory that will be managed by Osamu Goto. The deal doesn't come at a bad time for Ferrari because they have spend a lot of money last year on Michael Schumacher and the development of the car. Sources say that Ferrari is pressuring Sauber to take an Italian driver like Gianni Morbidelli.
Rumour has it that Alain Prost will finalize his take-over of Ligier next week. Peugeot wants to supply engines for a top team in 1998 but 'The French team could also be a scenario'.
