China is hoping to host a Grand Prix next year. China's first dedicated track, winding along natural valleys in Zhuhai in China's southern Guangdong province, now meets FIA's requirements. The 4.32 km (2.68 mile) circuit, which bends around Zhuhai's Nanshan or Southern Mountain, is tailored to the latest FIA requirements for F1 racetracks, Zhuhai officials said. Yu Bing Lin, vice mayor of Zhuhai City has declared that they are now discussing with the FIA and other related agencies to try to win the rights to host a Formula 1 Grand Prix next year. McLaren's David Brabham, who entered the four-hour Endurance GT race held at Zhuhai, said the track appeared to have high standards. The $40 million Zhuhai International Circuit, located next to a 36-hole golf club, is part of a resort-style country club. It was jointly built by the Zhuhai Agriculture and Fisheries Department and Malaysia's Lamdeal Holdings Ltd.
