First footage of the STR10: Max happy with shakedown

Scuderia Toro Rosso’s new Formula 1 car completed its shakedown at Misano, near Toro Rosso's factory in Faenza, on Wednesday. During a day of filming, both Max Verstappen and Carlos Sainz drove the STR10 completing 60 miles in the process.
Toro Rosso used one of the two annually allowed promotional days to capture the 2015 racer on camera. Carlos kicked off the day completing twelve laps in the morning. Max took over from the Spaniard in the afternoon and also lapped the Italian track twelve times.
“We started the day cautiously checking if everything worked on the car. Luckily we didn't experience any real issues”, explains Max who appears happy after the shakedown. “The main thing was the car was able to run and in the end it was worth the wait to clock a few valuable laps.”
With only a few laps completed, it is too soon to judge the car’s handling, especially since the shakedown took place on a harder (demonstration) compound and on a track that does not host Formula 1 events. Max: “The sound of the engine is the same as last year but the STR10 looks a lot better than the 2014-car.”
The day before the shakedown, Max travelled to the Toro Rosso factory in Faenza. “Together with the team we made a plan for the upcoming test in Jerez. We also looked at some of the car’s new features as well as working though the new regulations.”
After duties at the factory, including a photo shoot, Max will spend a day "resting" at home before flying to Jerez de la Frontera. There, on Saturday, Scuderia Toro Rosso will unveil the STR10 at 4pm. From Sunday until Wednesday, the team will participate in the first collective Formula 1 test of the year. Carlos will drive the new car on the first and third day, with Max taking over driving duties on Monday and Wednesday.
