Max calmly awaits his first Grand Prix

Published on 10 March 2015 by Mike Motilall

On Monday, after departing the USA, Max Verstappen arrived in Australia; where, in a few days’ time, he will write history by being the youngest Formula 1-driver ever. The 17-year old Scuderia Toro Rosso-driver is quite acclimatized by now and is calmly awaiting his first Grand Prix.

Monday saw Max, together with his personal trainer, spend time in the gym. The day was also used to get in the Australian rhythm. After having had a breakfast as a whole, Tuesday morning, there was a stroll in Melbourne city; the host of the race.

In the afternoon, together with some members of Toro Rosso, the Melbourne Zoo was visited, the same place where father Jos also had his photo taken in 2003. The realization that Max, twelve years later, was standing at the exact same spot, brought about a huge smile on the faces of all present; after all, it is a unique story.

After the small trip, it was training time for Max; he also did some swimming and there were interviews too on the agenda. The day was concluded after the dinner with the Toro Rosso team.

Wednesday morning Max will have a photo shoot on Melbourne beach, after which, in the afternoon, it will be time to set for the track as the race weekend is slowly approaching. Max is ready for it. He is in good spirits, relaxed and – as always – sleeps well.

Due to the first Grand Prix taking place in Australia, race fans in Europe will have to get up early to see the on-track action. Click here to see the schedule of the Australian GP.
