Max ready for the Malaysian heat
Published on 24 March 2015 by Mike Motilall
The Sepang International Circuit, close to Kuala Lumpur, will be the battleground for Max Verstappen’s second Grand Prix. The heat can be relentless in Malaysia and the 17-year old Dutch Formula 1-driver has therefore prepared himself.
“I know it’s going to be a hot and sweaty weekend, but I have done some heat training which went very well and I believe that will pay off when I actually get there”, says Max.
The Verstappen-fans will undoubtedly remember Sepang 2001, a memorable race from father Jos. In the rain, driving in his Arrows, he progressed from P18 and even managed to hold the second spot for a short while. After a strong race, he eventually finished seventh; just missing out on the points.
Max continues: “I have been there once before, when my dad was racing there. I have watched a lot of videos of him racing at Sepang and the track looks really cool.”
Because of the difference in time (GMT +8) with Kuala Lumpur, the free practices, qualification and race - all can be viewed live on TV-channel Sport1 - will take place in the early morning hours. Click here for the Malaysian GP schedule.
