Today the new Tyrrell 025 had its shake-down test on the circuit of Silverstone. Mika Salo drove a total of 26 laps in the morning and could see that the new car showed no problems at all. In the afternoon he drove another 16 laps. Afterwards he told that the chassis of the car doesn't really feel all that different than last year's chassis, and that he was pleased with that. The engine has much more torque than last year's Yamaha-engine and feels really good according to Mika. Cosworth strives to present an improved version of the engine after the first three races. Tomorrow Jos will have his first taste of the new Tyrrell on Silverstone.

Due to the dull and rainy weather at Silverstone the times set were not representative. Next week the team will test in Barcelona and after that at Jerez. The second car will also be ready then and hopefully the weather will also be a bit better so we will be able to get a first impression of the speed of the new car.

An impression of the teampresentation, a tour of the Tyrrell factory and a report of the first day of testing can be seen on Dutch television, next friday at 19.29 hrs. on TV2 in the program Kukulkan of the Tros.

Benetton will present their new car tomorrow (January 23), only 200 metres from the place where Tyrrell presented theirs, in Planet Hollywood on Leicester Square in London.
