Plenty of penalty points awarded at Hungarian GP

The spectacular Hungarian Grand Prix resulted in the race stewards awarding plenty of penalties near the end of the race. Accompanying the on-track penalties, are the 'penalty points', a system introduced last year. In short it means a driver who accumulates more than twelve points within twelve months will be suspended for a race.
Both Lotus drivers, Pastor Maldonado and Romain Grosjean, reached the halfway point on their tally leaving the Hungaroring with six points. Maldonando 'earned' his two points of the weekend after a collision with Force India's Sergio Perez resulting in a drive through penalty for the former. Grosjean received a five second penalty and two points for an unsafe release from his pits.
Unfortunately for Max Verstappen, the Dutchman was awarded three points after receiving a drive through penalty for not staying above the required time set by the FIA during the deployment of the safety car. Max' response: “I think there was a bit of miscommunication between me and the team. I was told I could go faster but that was probably a lap to soon.” The points he picked up, give the 17-year-old a total of five penalty points.
Additionally, Lewis Hamilton and Daniil Kvyat put themselves on the board with two points each. The Mercedes driver earned his by colliding with Daniel Ricciardo. Kyvat received his for exceeding track limits whilst fighting for position with Hamilton.
