Max entertains thousands of fans at the Dutch TT circuit

On Saturday and Sunday, Max Verstappen thrilled the crowds at the famous Dutch TT Circuit at Assen. The youngster completed several demonstration laps in a Toro Rosso-liveried RB7 producing plenty of tyre smoke in the process.
“It's great to see so many fans out there. The howl of the V8 is great for the audience and it's always fun to see a Formula 1 car in action”, says Max after his first run. “You can tell Formula 1 is popular in the Netherlands. The fact that I'm, as a Dutchman, scoring point probably adds to it and it's great to see.”
The demonstration is Max' first time out on the TT circuit. “You can tell it's a track more designed for motor bikes by the corner lay-out. It really flows but it's not ideal for an F1 car. So I took it a bit easy at the beginning. But I had a great time as it's always fun to drive a Formula 1 car. I love the speed, brakes and the sound!”
The car Max is driving is not his usual STR10, in fact, the RB7 differs quite a bit from the 17-year-old's 2015 spec Toro Rosso. “There's a big difference in the engines. The noise of the V8 is great for the fans but not so great for your ears. Also, there is more downforce on the RB7 but it lacks top speed to the STR10. However, both are great to drive.”
Despite the fact that the harder demonstration Pirellis prevent an attack on the lap record, Max is able to entertain the fans. “It's fun to do some donuts but the amount of donuts depends on the car temperature so I can't over do it. So I'll do a couple of them and some of fast laps as I try to put on a good show for the fans.”
