Demonstrators opposing the Australian Grand Prix have dumped diesel oil on the circuit in Albert Park, Melbourne, overnight in an attempt to sabotage the event. The fuel was spread over a length of 500 metres including the start-finish area. Local groups have been protesting against the Grand Prix being held in the park for some time now because trees had to be felled and the parked is inaccessible for a while before and after the Grand Prix. Detergents are being used to clean up the mess. If this doesn't work burning the diesel off is considered.
