Max and Jos in tennis finals Sao Paulo

Published on 10 November 2015 by Mike Motilall

Max Verstappen left for Sao Paulo on Monday evening. Having had a relaxed night flight, he arrived, together with his father Jos and manager Raymond, in the Brazilian metropolis. After checking in at the hotel and having recuperated from the long flight, the whole group, including personal trainer Jake Aliker, went sporting. As a means to get acclimatized to the local, warm climate.

Tennis rackets were brought to bear, as Max and Jake take on Jos and Raymond. The youth, conditionally, has the upper hand and exploit that to the fullest by taking the first set with 6-4. But the old boys manage to get a grip on themselves and take revenge by clinching the second set, pure on technique, with 3-6. The standings so far: 1-1.

Needless to say that this duel, between Max’ and Jos’ team, cannot stay undetermined. This means that the finals will be planned on a very short notice. So, to be continued…

Wednesday, Max will set foot on Autódromo José Carlos Pace, also known as circuit Interlagos. Together with his engineers he will then do the usual track walk. The rest of the day, will see him be engaged in sponsor activities and meetings with the team, as a preparation for the Grand Prix.
