Max takes part in Pirelli test

Max Verstappen will take part in the Pirelli tyre test upcoming Tuesday at the Yas Marina circuit. The Dutchman will share the Scuderia Toro Rosso driving duties with his team mate Carlos Sainz. Both drivers will account for a half day.

Pirelli, Formula 1's sole tyre supplier, requested for the teams to enlist either their race drivers or experienced third driver for this test. Six of the ten teams in the paddock have agreed to the call. Ferrari, Red Bull Racing and Scuderia Toro Rosso will field their current driver line-up with Williams, Force India and Sauber each supplying one of their race drivers.

Pascal Wehrlein will drive for Mercedes, Stoffel Vandoorne will climb in the McLaren and Jolyon Palmer will head out in the Lotus. The latter has the most experience due to his outings in several of the Friday free practice sessions.

Sauber, Force India and Manor use the test to sell some seat time to '”pay drivers”. Below the full line-up for the test on Tuesday 1 December.
