STR11 passes FIA crash test

The STR11, Scuderia Toro Rosso's brand new challenger for the 2016 season, passed all compulsory FIA crash tests on Wednesday.
The tests, mandatory for every new Formula 1 car, ensures the driver's safety in the event of an impact. The various crumple zones are submitted to heavy loads. If they cannot withstand the impact to the required standards, no 'all clear' is given forcing the team to go back to the drawing board.
However, with the passing of the safety checks, Toro Rosso is on course to have the STR11 ready for the first pre-season test days in Barcelona, starting 22 February. “They're working incredibly hard, 24/7 in Faenza”, revealed Max. “So far we're still scheduled to be ready on time. I'm confident we will be.”
